The new Ipsy bag came the other day! I was excited to get my 2nd bag and have fallen in LOVE with 4/5 of the products (the 5th hasn’t been opened yet).
The bag is super cute and in the style of a pencil pouch you may have carried in your backpack.
The first item I used was the Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk. It is AH-MAZING! I normally put my dry shampoo in at night so it has some time to soak up the oils. Within minutes this soaked up the oil without leaving a powdery finish-a real struggle for those of us with dark hair that prefer a spray to a loose powder! Normally I can go a full day and a half without even being self conscious about my hair but the day I used this was a particularly humid day. I have been using this dry shampoo lately and I like it, but I LOVE the one from Klorane and will be buying a full size bottle soon!
For the makeup portion of my bag, I created this look:
–Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Glide-On Eye Pencil Plushie, a great, dark purple eye liner, to line both the upper and lower lash line. It’s a really soft pencil so here’s a trick for the lower lash-dot in between the lashes then use a thin angled brush to blend the dots. I find that this creates a thinner line.
-Costal Scents Shadow Palette Sample (you can find a larger palette that includes the 4 shades I received here: Coastal Scents 88 Original Palette). I used the Pink Silver color for the brow bone and the Baby Pink for my lid. They’re really pigmented and have a wide range of shades. I also used Mary Kay Mineral Eye Shadow in Sweet Plum for the crease.
-I put Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo on the top of my cheekbones after applying a sheer layer or Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush.
I said that I only used 4/5 of the products given to me. I have not used the Jersey Shore Sun MONGONGO Nutrient Dense Lip Conditioner (Balm). It’s sealed shut and I just haven’t opened it. I am currently lip balm rich having just purchase 3 of these Jack Black Lip Balms. I LOVE them and they have SPF in them without the SPF smell or taste-which I absolutely loathe. I will keep it sealed until I lose one the others; because we all know it will happen!
Interested in your own Ipsy bag?! Check out my first Ipsy post here. I talk a bit about how the bag works. Also, I used the Sexy Hair spray again-not a fan. But hey-you can’t beat 5 deluxe samples plus a bag for $10!
That was the name of my very first Ipsy Glam Bag! Check out the site and how to get your own bag here: www.ipsy.com
This months pink bag is super cute right?! I was so excited to get it in the mail and dive right in.
How it works: Ipsy is a monthly subscription service. When you sign up, you fill out a profile that will help them narrow down the type of deluxe samples and goodies you will get in your bag. In looking at past months, each bag averages 5 items plus you get a super cute makeup bag each month that goes with the theme! The best part: it’s ONLY $10 per month! You also usually get 1 full sized item valued at the price of the bag or higher. I think it’s such a great way to try new beauty products! Here’s my first Ipsy look using 3 out of 5 items.
For my eyes I started with bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in Divine Wine. This can be used as a primer but for my skin tone it’s really dark so I used it as a medium base and used a Mary Kay Cream Eyeshadow Brush to blend it all over the lid of my eye. I used Chocolate Martini for the darker brown in the corner and Heaven for the brow bone, both from the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette. I lined my eyes and of course added mascara!
Here’s a better close up of my eye shadow.
On my face, for a very subtle contour and some color I used POP Beauty Sunkissed Bronzer. For my skin tone, it’s the perfect bronze color that looks like I just stepped in from the beach. On my lips I used the Pixi Beauty Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm in Pretty in Pink. It’s super creamy and such a fun, bold color.
I also received a small bottle of Hang Ten Dark Tanning Oil SPF 08 that I haven’t had the chance to use yet. I don’t make it a habit to lay out specifically to tan but I will try this the next time I go on a hike or something. I also got a small bottle of Sexy Hair Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning & Texturizing Spray. The verdict is still out on this. You are supposed to use it on wet hair and mine was just damp so while there were some waves it was inconsistent. I will try it again! Here’s what my hair looked like a few hours after it dried:
I really liked my Ipsy bag this month and can’t wait to see what’s in store for August! Get your own bag here: www.ipsy.com One thing to note about the service: they do have a wait list! BUT pay attention to your facebook feed and emails because you can get off the wait list EASY! I got off the wait list after about 1 week.
